Student Admission Process and Calendar

Completed Admissions Process

  • Completed application submitted.(including parent/guardian and student written responses)
  • If there are more qualified students than openings, admission is granted through a lottery process.
  • Students will be notified of admission status.
  • Admitted students and at least one parent/guardian or adult advocate must attend a required meeting to remain eligible
  • After attending the required meeting, family must notify district in writing of their decision to accept or decline the admission offer. No response will be considered a declination of the offer.
  • Student and at least one parent/guardian must attend an orientation session and sign all necessary agreements and forms.

***Failure to complete all admission requirements may result in removal of student from the enrollment roster***

November      Informational Open Houses                     

December      Open Enrollment Applications due December 1 2008-January 9 2009

January         Applications reviewed, those eligible enter lottery*

February        Admittance status letters sent to student indicating admitted, not admitted

                     not eligible), or waitlisted*

                     Dates for required meeting included in admittance status letters

                     Required meeting with student and at least one parent/guardian

March             Written notification of district by parent/guardian of acceptance or decline

August           Orientation, registration, required forms

*School year 2009-2010, the National Inventors Hall of Fame School...Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Learning will begin with around 50 fifth grade students and around 50 sixth grade students.
